Application/Background
Salmonella contamination in food accounts for almost half of the gastrointestinal infections in the US alone. Conventional methods for detecting Salmonella involve several steps. We have produced a fusion protein between the anti-Salmonella single-chain antibody and the Photoprotein aequorin. It has been demonstrated that the scFv domain of the fusion protein retains the binding affinity toward the Salmonella serogroup B O-antigen, while the aequorin maintains its bioluminescence properties. The advantage of using the fusion protein in the assay is that it eliminates the need to use other labeled secondary antibodies, thus, shortening the assay development time and reducing the cost.
A competitive heterogenous immunoassay gave a detection limit of 10mg ml-1 (1). For package size, pricing and availability please contact us. We can customize your order to your requirements.
